I mean, the way I see it, is that pegasi have several hollow bones, to allow for lower mass, which would allow for greater lift. The unicorns are about average weight, since they have no need either to fly or till the land, since they have their magic to do stuff. The Earth ponies are the weightiest and stockiest of the three pony races, since they have to do a lot of manual labour and care of the land and animals.
This is a cute comic, and also why I don't pile on people without asking. I'm considered light, but another 100+ lbs might hurt the people on the bottom of the pile.
